- Fall 2007 2007
has been a busy year for Dancing Sun Multimedia.
With a major documentary in the works (the creation of the sculpture "Harvest")
and a variety of video productions ongoing or about to begin, we will be hard
pressed to get everything completed on schedule.
We are currently working
on a new commission from the Northfield Retirement Community
that shows how churches in the community can look at their involvement with NRC
as a "backyard mission." This is a new concept that may inspire other
churches around the country. Later this fall, we will also be at NRC documenting
the many new physical changes and additions that are being put in place. A long-time
client, NRC has been wonderful to work with. We
have just finished an updating of an earlier version of a video for the Sheltering
Arms Foundation of Minneapolis. Check out the Video page to see the
final version. We
are looking forward to working with the Maltby Nature
Preserve on a promotional video for their organization. This will likely
commence early in 2008. We
are also excited about a new video for the African Development
Center of Minneapolis. They are making amazing progress in helping
new immigrants from Africa learn the ins and outs of doing business in America
and in purchasing new homes. They are under the leadership of Hussein Samatar,
a remarkable leader in the Somali community.
New
Studio Equipment: As we make the transition to High Definition video,
Dancing Sun has purchased a new Apple Macintosh workstation. We have also invested
in Final Cut Pro Studio Suite to give us the quality and horsepower we will need
to work in this exciting new video format.
Although none of our current
clients has asked for high-def production, we realize that it is only a matter
of time before this will be routine. Our next decision is what kind of camera
to invest in. There are so many on the market that it will take some time to make
this important move. In the meantime, we will likely rent cameras as the need
arises. So whether you want standard of high definition, we stand ready to meet
your technical and aesthetic requirements. |
