News - Fall 2008

2008 has been a busy year for Dancing Sun Multimedia. We have filmed the final stages of the creation and installation of the sculpture "Harvest." Our goal is to have the documentary ready for distribution by May or June of 2009. Editing will begin in December and we'll be creating new music for the production. It has been such a joy working with sculptor Ray "Jake" Jacobson. What an inspiration he is!

We have just finished a new website for the Northfield Retirement Community and they seem to be very pleased with the result. The site has many videos of on campus life and also a connection to their new internal TV network. Kyle Nordine, CEO, is a visionary in an industry that is too often conservative and lacking in imagination. He has been pushing the boundaries of communication and we are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with him.

Our most recent website just went online November 21, 2008. It was commissioned by Penny Solber, CEO of Spring Valley Senior Living in Spring Valley, Minnesota. The site needed a complete makeover and we were happy to comply. Penny liked the logo we created for the site so much that she is now incorporating it into all their communication pieces. Thank you Penny!

Another important client is Professional Design Group. This creative group of engineers and architects has commissioned numerous posters over the past few years. Recently we completed a brochure that focused on the Green Design revolution. PDG is at the cutting edge of LEED design and needed a piece that would be both promotional and educational. We are looking forward to working with the Maltby Nature Preserve on a promotional video for their organization. This will likely commence early in 2009.

New Studio Equipment: As we make the transition to High Definition video, Dancing Sun has purchased a new Apple Macintosh workstation. We have also invested in Final Cut Pro Studio Suite to give us the quality and horsepower we will need to work in this exciting new video format.

Although none of our current clients has asked for high-def production, we realize that it is only a matter of time before this will be routine. Our next decision is what kind of camera to invest in. There are so many on the market that it will take some time to make this important move. In the meantime, we will likely rent cameras as the need arises. So whether you want standard of high definition, we stand ready to meet your technical and aesthetic requirements.
